East Coast Greenway

Throughout central and eastern North Carolina, the East Coast Greenway showcases the state’s natural features and cultural diversity. From rolling hills of pine, oak, and hickory forests to farmlands, thriving cities, cypress swamps, and coastal beaches, travelers will experience much of the Tar Heel State’s best. New Bern just so happens to be one of the stops featured on the trail.

The East Coast Greenway runs from Key West, Florida to Calais, Maine. However, if you’re looking to stay within state lines, 365 spine route miles of the trail is located right here in North Carolina. There are two separate trails; one connecting Wilmington all the way to Raleigh and the other connecting Jacksonville to New Bern and up to Elizabeth City as you can see pictured below.
