September 30 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm
The annual B/S/H/ Oktoberfest returns to a huge tent at Union Point Park in New Bern. Traditional German-style food, catered by Fat Fellas of Newport, NC, will include bratwurst, sauerkraut, potato salad, and large Bavarian pretzels. There will be plenty of beer on hand, including a specially crafted Oktoberfest beer just for this event, plus wine, soda, and water. The Little German Band & Dancers from Raleigh will keep the festivities going with their lively music and energetic dance performances. The winner of the traditional Stein holding challenge will have a chance to go to the State competition as part of the U.S. Stein-Holding Association’s nationwide contest. A free pre-event, open to the public, is scheduled on Wednesday, September 27, at 5:30 pm at Persimmons Restaurant on East Front Street. New Bern’s Mayor will do the traditional honors of “tapping the keg” to officially open Oktoberfest. Food and beverages will be available for purchase with Persimmons.
Tickets are $30/adults-advance; $35/adults-day of event; $7/beer & wine; $5/children 6-12. Available at Mitchell’s Hardware, online at https://bit.ly/
