From the Bottom Up – Understanding Colonial Clothing

Join Tryon Palace’s Historic Costumer, Leslie Lambrecht, as she demonstrates the many facets of colonial dressing, from shoes to hats, and everything in between. From fall front breeches, mules, hip pockets to saque-backs, you will learn about the pieces needed to dress for one of Governor Tryon’s balls. Learn where period style fabrics, notions and accessories came from, and where ladies and gentlemen shopped or acquired finished garments for their wardrobe. Event is FREE to attend.
