LLC International Film: The Life Ahead
January 6 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

In seaside Italy, a Holocaust survivor with a day-care business takes in a 12-year-old street kid who recently robbed her. Rosa (Sophia Loren) and Momo develop a deep bond, and after he becomes her only ward he quits selling drugs. Although her health is declining, Rosa asks Momo to promise to keep her out of the hospital as she is terrified because she was medically experimented on as a child in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Momo agrees and promises, and a one point sneaks her out of the hospital and hides her. Momo stays there with Rosa, caring for her. Will their secret be discovered?
Each film is shown in Orringer Auditorium on our New Bern campus on Fridays and has two show times: a matinee at 2:30 p.m. and an evening screening at 7:30 p.m. Due to the variety of languages and accents represented, as well as accommodation for the hearing impaired, all films are shown with English subtitles.
The public is welcome and admission is free. Donations at the door are welcome and help support the Lifetime Learning Center‘s International Film series.
