Pet-Friendly Adventures
Here in New Bern, we believe pets deserve vacation days too. That’s why we have crafted a tailor-made itinerary for you and your fur babies. In addition to several restaurants and shops that are pet friendly, we have a wide range of overnight accommodations that welcome pets. For a full list of these and more, visit this link and verify accomodation partner policies.
Day 1

Stop #1:
Grab a leash and stroll with your pupper into the Black Cat Shoppe on Middle Street. Here you will find unique gifts and curiosities.

Stop #2:
Just down the street is the Bruin Craft Beer & Wine store. This New Bern staple consistently maintains an inventory of 100+ North Carolina craft beers. Wine lovers fear not, they’ve got you covered too.

Stop #3:
Now that you are hydrated, it’s time to find a spot to dine. You will be hard-pressed to find a restaurant that offers better views than Persimmons. The outdoor waterfront dining area features picturesque views of the Neuse River. Your doggo will appreciate the shade sails.

Stop #4:
Cap off your evening with a trip to the 99th Brewery in North Carolina state history. In May of 2021, Brewery 99 moved operations to Pollock Street. Dogs and humans alike appreciate the upgraded space, which includes a beer garden.
Day 2

Stop #1:
Located on Middle Street, Surf Wind and Fire is a surf-inspired outdoor lifestyle store that doubles as a bar. Did we mention they are pet friendly? Can you name a better combination? Didn’t think so.

Stop #2:
You probably grabbed yourself a souvenir at the Black Cat Shoppe or Surf Wind and Fire, so return the favor and get your furry friend something from Nauti Paws Pet Boutique & Bakery to remember their trip to New Bern. Nauti Paws has a selection of homemade treats, toys, and gifts that will be a hit with any pet or pet lover.

Stop #3:
After your pooch chows down on a treat from Nauti Paws, take them to Martin Marietta Park. New Bern’s newest park offers both two-legged and four-legged guests an opportunity to walk off calories and take in premier views at the same time.

Stop #4:
The staff at Morgan’s Tavern & Grill take the saying “man’s best friend” a step further by offering pets a dedicated menu. Don’t worry humans, there is a menu crafted for your liking too.
