Craven County Tourism Development Authority
The Craven County Tourism Development Authority was established under the provision of Articles 40 and 41 of Chapter 908 of the North Carolina General Status and by resolution of August 23, 1983. The nine (9) member board oversees the expenditures of funds generated by a three (3) percent occupancy tax collected by accommodations of five (5) units or more. The Craven County TDA serves to promote and develop Craven County as a travel destination. The Authority places print/ digital/social media advertisements and attends travel shows to enhance the image of Craven County as a travel destination. The Authority, through personal visits by staff and responding to inquiries, solicits visitation. Other activities of the Authority include facilitating the works of local groups in attracting conventions, tour groups, and leisure travelers to Craven County.
